After a year of development / extreme testing / numerous beta tests with the Voron engineering team, we finally released the new version Galileo, Galileo 2, also called G2, exclusively G2E, G2Z and G2SA!
What is Galileo2:
All G2 kits are based on a specially developed 9:1 MJF and aluminum planetary gearbox with a tailor-made 9T Stepper that features a 20% larger surface area than existing 10T designs (5mm high spur gear vs. 4mm high spur gear) to reduce wear. to increase protection and better power transmission from the stepper to the gearbox. The gearbox also follows the rules of planetary gearboxes, where the sun gear (spur gear) must be divisible by the number of planets in order for the planets to properly mesh and be loaded (3 planets, 9T spur gear).
The G2 extruder (G2E) is designed as a replacement for the CW2 extruder for Voron printers that have the Stealthburner tool head use. G2E features a custom-made large drive gear (16mm diameter) connected to an intermediate bearing to prevent extruder artifacts due to gear mesh, and because it has a planetary gear, there are no problems with gear mesh devices such as those found on the CW2 are. G2E is exclusively compatible with all currently available toolhead boards.
G2 Standalone (G2SA) is designed as a drop-in replacement extruder for Orbiter 2.0 or Sherpa Mini and uses the G2E kit Parts for assembly. This expands the printer range for G2 to include all printers compatible with the Orbiter 2.0 or Sherpa Mini, providing any compatible printer with the G2E benefits above. The G2SA is also a lightweight extruder, comparable to the Orbiter 2.0.
